Terms of Use and Privacy Policy for the STAR®-Expert Base
1. Purpose of this Application
For every project, the right STARS. The STAR®-Expert Base is an online platform where individuals can showcase their skills, professional backgrounds, and goals. It serves as a crucial resource for finding suitable projects for experts in the fields of CONSULTING, ELECTRONICS, ENGINEERING, IT, LOGISTICS, and MEDIA - or vice versa. This tool aims to provide our applicants, employees, and external service providers with a space to recommend themselves for projects with their profiles and facilitate the identification of the best experts for open project positions, based on a reliable and up-to-date database.
The following Terms of Use and Privacy Policy govern your access to and use of this platform, including all content, features, and services offered on or through www.expertbase.star-cooperation.com (hereinafter referred to as "the platform" or "STAR®-Expert Base") by STAR COOPERATION GmbH (Otto-Lilienthal-Strasse 5, 71034 Böblingen, Germany) and its subsidiaries. STAR COOPERATION GmbH and its subsidiaries are referred to hereinafter as "STAR®", "we", or "us". "You" or "User" refers to you as a user of the platform.
Please read these Terms of Use and Privacy Policy carefully before using the platform. By accessing the platform, creating a profile, or accepting/agreeing to the terms of use when prompted, you agree to comply with these Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. If you do not wish to agree to the Terms of Use or Privacy Policy, you may not access or use the platform.
2. Target Audience Specific Information

2.1 Information for STAR® Employees
For the purpose of acquiring and processing contracts in the service sector, the qualification and profile description in the form of structured data capture and presentation provide a successful means for STAR® to win new projects. For employees in the consulting, temporary employment, and project business areas, a structured qualification description and presentation through the STAR®-Expert Base represent a business interest in increasing success in project and contract acquisition. The information on the platform is intended to find and compile individual profiles or teams for inquiries, to be shared during the sales process with client companies or during the initiation process with potential client companies.

2.2 Information for Individuals in the Application Process
For the purpose of swift project deployment, it may be important to create a profile on the platform during the application process. STAR® can search for suitable projects based on your qualifications using this profile.
Personal data is collected when you voluntarily provide it to us. Processing of your personal data beyond the legal basis (contract performance for the establishment and design of an employment relationship or placement of a position at a client company) is only done with your explicit consent. Inputting your personal data into the STAR®-Expert Base (including, among other things, your first and last name, telephone number and email address, postal code, as well as details about education and professional background, etc.) is SSL encrypted.
There is no automated decision-making or individual rejection within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. This means that the decision on your application is not based solely on automated processing.

2.3 Information for External Service Providers
Personal data is collected when you voluntarily provide it to us. Processing of your personal data beyond the legal basis (contract performance for the establishment and design of an employment relationship or placement of a position at a client company) is only done with your explicit consent. Inputting your personal data into the STAR®-Expert Base (including, among other things, your company data, your last name, telephone number and email address, postal code, as well as details about education and professional background, etc.) is SSL encrypted.

2.4 Information for privileged user profile Search
In addition to these specific terms of use for the user profile "Search," the terms of use and privacy notices for the STAR®-Expert Base apply in their current version.

2.4.1 Authorization and Requirements for Privileged User Profile "Search"
With the user profile "Search," you have the ability to view, process, and export all registered user data. Proper handling of personal data is a particular concern for STAR®, so careful fulfillment of your "Search" user profile is of great importance - for employees as well as for customers. Access is to be used exclusively for the purpose of project staffing.
Furthermore, you have the option to authorize new external users via an invitation code for the system.
Your activities in this system are to be carried out with trust, integrity, and reliability. In the event of misconduct, the system administrator is authorized to revoke privileged usage and system access. Disciplinary measures for violations of these terms of use are not excluded.

2.4.2 Search for STARS and Decisions
The search function is to be manually designed and conducted after a search query for the job profile. In the case of single or multiple results, profile selection is to be made manually after individual viewing of the displayed profile or profiles. Automated decision-making or profiling is excluded.

2.4.3 Request-Specific Profile Adjustments
Changes to the profile can be made before customer output, such as adjustments for customer-specific language, reduction of non-targeted information, or correction of errors (e.g., spelling). These changes must not compromise the accuracy of the data and must be coordinated with the individual concerned.

2.4.4 Profile PDF Export and Delivery
Data transmission can only occur to authorized recipients, ensuring that data transmission is secure and authorized. A confidentiality agreement as well as a basis for data processing are required for delivering individual profiles. Data outside the STAR®-Expert Base must be promptly deleted upon completion of the request purpose.

2.4.5 Information for the Affected Person
Interventions and changes in the profile printout/PDF export must be communicated to the affected person to allow for potential changes to the master data in the actual profile. Information about the profile's PDF export is electronically recorded and displayed.

2.4.6 Special Rights and Obligations
With the user profile "Search," you have the ability to view and process all registered profile information. In the case of anomalies such as obviously incorrect data maintenance or disregard for the business practices of individual users, the system administrator must be informed.

2.4.7 Access Data for External Applicants
External STAR® applicants can register in the tool using a one-time valid invitation code with their private email address and by assigning a private password on the platform. With the user profile "Search," you have the ability to generate invitation codes. Generated invitation codes must be sent directly. Invitation codes must not be generated in advance and stored outside the tool. Invitation codes may only be transmitted to authorized individuals. Invitation codes must not be issued multiple times but may only be generated and used for one person. Additionally, invitation codes are to be used sparingly. Once an invitation code has been used, you can view this under your generated invitation codes using the filter "Used codes only:".
3. Functioning of the Application and Data Processing

3.1 Registration and Personal Access to the STAR®-Expert Base
As an external user (without an employment contract with us or as an external service provider) of the STAR®-Expert Base, you only have access to your expert profile with the corresponding login credentials (username and password). For your initial access to the STAR®-Expert Base, you will receive an invitation code from STAR®, with which you can create a profile using your private email address for the first time and assign a password for subsequent logins during the initial registration. This is done through a double opt-in procedure.
As a STAR® employee, you have access to your profile with your STAR®-M365 account.
Here you can change or update your personal data at any time. Please keep your login credentials safe and do not disclose them to third parties or unauthorized persons. If you have reason to believe that unauthorized third parties have access to your editable profile, please inform us immediately at anwenderbetreuung@star-cooperation.com and change your password.

3.2 Use of the STAR®-Expert Base
Follow the structure of the platform in creating your profile and try to create and keep an extensive profile up to date as much as possible. When providing ratings in the form of stars, self-assessment is the basis. Please note that this assessment should be verifiable. You can also discuss and determine your own assessment with your supervisor.
Language and images are for business collaboration purposes and should be chosen accordingly.
You are responsible for the accuracy of your information. You can edit, delete, update, and supplement your information at any time.
The platform is operated by administrators and authenticated individuals. They have the ability to view and process your data for the purpose of acquiring contracts. Administrators and authenticated individuals are authorized and trained employees of STAR® from the HR, customer service, or sales departments. Other platform users cannot view your profile.

3.3 Deletion and Deactivation of Personal Profile and Access
You can edit your profile yourself or designate it for deletion at any time.
You can revoke your consent to use the platform at any time. To do so, please send us an email at datenschutz@star-cooperation.com requesting the deletion of your personal data from this platform. We will delete your personal data and confirm the deletion via email.
If you leave STAR® as an employee, your personal data will be deleted immediately as part of the departure process.
If you have not logged into our STAR®-Expert Base with your personal access data for a period of three months, you will receive an email reminding you to update your profile. If you have not logged into the application for a period of twelve months, you will also receive an email requesting an update. If you do not log into the STAR®-Expert Base within one month thereafter, the deletion process for your profile will be initiated. By logging into the application, you can stop the deletion process, and your data will be stored for an additional period of twelve months.
3.4 Data Sharing with Third Parties
To use the STAR®-Expert Base, you must consent to our terms of use during the registration process. By giving your consent, you agree that STAR COOPERATION GmbH and the companies belonging to the STAR COOPERATION Group may use your personal data stored in the STAR®-Expert Base for consideration for advertised positions, project inquiries, and current vacancies. This includes internal use as well as the disclosure of your personal data to our clients for the purpose of acquiring a project assignment or temporary employment. The transmission occurs partly in non-pseudonymized form. You also agree that we may structurally or contextually revise and adjust individual contents of your profile in the database for the sake of audience-oriented readability (spelling, word choice, etc.). We will ensure that these changes do not disadvantage you. If you do not agree to the terms of use, unfortunately, your profile cannot be processed or considered within the framework of the STAR®-Expert Base.
4. Rights of Data Subjects
You can assert your rights to information, correction, deletion, or restriction of processing or the exercise of your right to object to processing or the right to data portability at any time. Here you have the opportunity to contact us by email at datenschutz@star-cooperation.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority.
5. Information on Data Controllers
The development, design, and operation of this application, along with the processing of personal data under the GDPR, are the responsibility of STAR COOPERATION GmbH, represented by the managing directors Sofia Neher and Jörg Gerstlauer.

6. Use of Cookies
Currently, no cookies are used in the application that process personal data.
7. Linking to Social Media
The platform offers the possibility to link to other social media channels. This serves the purpose of a more comprehensive profile presentation. The information is optional and voluntary. In case of use, the privacy policies of the respective social media provider apply. STAR® does not assume responsibility for its content. The terms of use and privacy policies specified there apply
8. Final Remarks
The terms of use may be subject to updates. Additionally, new features will be added or renewed in an agile development manner from time to time. Please regularly check for updates to these terms.
